Ragazzi Boys Chorus (www.ragazzi.org), San Francisco Bay Area’s premier choral organization for boys, seeks a collaborative pianist for training group ensemble. All faculty, staff, and choristers are fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

Under the musical leadership of Artistic and Executive Director, Kent Jue, Ragazzi provides exceptional education and performance opportunities for boys in the art of choral singing. Our growing organization serves over 175 boys and young men, ages 5-18, in 30 Bay Area communities. Ragazzi regularly produces its own concert series and collaborates with such prestigious ensembles as the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, Symphony Silicon Valley, and Opera San Jose. Ragazzi is supported by thirteen teaching artists and five administrators. Our robust program includes a comprehensive theory program, sleep-away camp, and annual tours.

Class Description:

● Class meets Tuesday, 5:30-7:30 pm, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 178 Clinton St., Redwood City, 94062

● Accompany warm-ups for intermediate children’s choral pieces

● Assist Director with attendance, administrative tasks, classroom management, and teaching

● Teach a small group theory class with guidance from the Theory Director

● Potential for additional theory support, 4:45-5:15p

● Attend the overnight local tour: May 21-22, 2022 (stipend provided)

● Perform at the semester-end recital: June 4, 2022

Preferred Qualifications:

● Enthusiasm for music and guiding young choristers

● Bachelor of Music degree, piano

● Two or more years of successful experience accompanying young singers

● Ability to build positive rapport with young boys, families, and staff

Compensation: $65 per hour. A background check and proof of full COVID-19 vaccination are required, as permitted by law.
