The Renaissance International School is currently looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Music Director and Teacher to direct one of our vocal groups and teach musicianship lessons at the Elementary Level. The musicianship classes are based on the Kodaly method. We are a Montessori School in Oakland that enjoys a wonderful park setting, a strong and highly credentialed faculty, an enthusiastic and supportive parent community, and solid administrative leadership. We pride ourselves in our extensive Music, Studio Art and Multilingual program. We currently enroll about 170 students, from ages 2 through 14.

Requirements:

 A degree or background in Kodaly

 A background in teaching musicianship

 Experience working with children ages 6-12

 Interest or affinity for Montessori Philosophy

 A desire to help children develop their potential

 Willing to follow direction and assume responsibility

 A love for children

 A passion for education

 A passion for music

 A passion for excellence

 A team player

 A friendly, flexible and kind personality

 Experience and ability to work in a multilingual and multicultural environment

Hours are M-F from 8am-9:30am.
