San Francisco Boys Chorus (SFBC) Rehearsal & Site Management Volunteer

Hours: Mondays & Wednesdays, 3:00‐7:00pm
Location: Kanbar Performing Arts Center, 44 Page St., San Francisco
Compensation: This is a volunteer position ‐ course credit and letter of recommendation is available upon completion.
SFBC seeks a responsible, energetic person with an interest in Arts Administration and/or education to coordinate logistics and help ensure student safety at our San Francisco campus. Ideally, the candidate has experience interacting with elementary/middle school‐aged children.
Responsibilities
‐ Coordinate with parent volunteers, and assist with volunteer duties as needed
(Including performances, concerts, Benefit Drawing, auditions)
‐ Supervise drop‐off, making sure that students know where they are going and that only authorized adults are admitted to the classrooms
‐ Monitor hallways and classrooms during rehearsal
‐ Supervise pick‐up and make sure that all students are released safely to their families or carpools
‐ Check in with the SFBC Program Office (3 blocks away) at the beginning of every volunteer session, and be prepared to answer questions and relay information to families and staff on‐site.
Bring documents back and forth as needed.
‐ Set up and break down parent resource table
- Assist faculty as needed
- Administrative duties as needed
Qualifications
‐ Has a good command of the English language
‐ Feels at ease in a position of authority/responsibility
‐ Is consistently on time and prepared
‐ Has an interest in Music Ed., Arts Education, or Education (familiarity with choruses in particular a plus)
- Microsoft Office and Social Media
